I was set to do a 5 day post-trip in Belize after visiting Mayan ruins in Guatemala and Honduras. Unfortunately it was cancelled by the tour company. I Was wondering if anyone knows about an in-country operator in Belize who could organize a 5 day itinerary that would include accommodation and activities. I need to work around the air I already have. Thank you for any recommendations you can provide!

I am sorry to read that your Belize trip was cancelled. When I went there in 2001 it was extremely easy to organize travel on one's own. I flew to Belize City from Panama, left a bag at the accommodation there that I would later go to and then went to San Ignacio (the Cayo area). I stayed in San Ignacio for about four or five days visiting the surrounding areas on my own or with tours I arranged there, including a day tour to Caracol. I also took a side trip to Tikal and Flores from there. If I remember correctly, I organized transport to take me back to Belize City so I could stop at the zoo enroute. From Belize City I arranged a day tour to the Lamanai archaeological site and Orange Walk. I also took a boat from there to Caye Caulker and spent a couple of nights on the island. So basically I arranged accommodations in San Ignacio, Belize City and Caye Caulker and arranged everything once I got to Belize. It was very easy and I suspect it would be even easier now as tourism has developed. If you have more time, I know that the company Explore has a 14-day trip to Belize and Tikal. The itinerary is at https://www.exploreworldwide.com/holidays/belize-wildlife-holiday. Hope the above info is useful.
