<p>Has anyone taken the Gate1 13 day trip to Thailand. If so, let us know about their ability to schedule flights from the United States. Also, how are their tour guides ? Do they provide the advertised hotels in the brochure or downgrade after booking ? Do they have a lot of forced shopping stops ? Any other comments would be appriciated.</p>

I took this trip in February.
I took this trip in February. I had been on several Gate1 trips before and I also travel with other tour companies. The itinerary and tour guide were very good. The hotels were nice with the exception of Chiang Mai. Instead of the advertised Le Meridien, the put us in a dump called the Lanna Palace. We had to stay there 3 nights and were miserable. Gate1 refunded us a small amount of money but it was not worth the misery we went through. I dont plan to travel with them again.
