Ireland with Patty’s Places
Ireland We want to rave about our trip to Ireland, June 16-July 5, ’03, with Patty’s Places (1251 NW 195th St., Seattle, WA 98177; phone 206/546-6717 or visit www.pattysplaces.com). The cost was $2,850 per person plus air, which the tour company can arrange for you.
The small group size (20 plus escort) was perfect, as we got to know our interesting fellow travelers.
We circled the whole island. Some of the places visited were Glendalough, Powerscourt Gardens, Wexford Heritage Park, Bunratty, Islamore Stud Farm and the Giant’s Causeway. We had well-planned days and went in a comfortable coach driven by a driver who was not only skillful but versed in the local color and history. We also had guides in every city and site.
We stayed in lovely accommodations (3- and 4-star), including small hotels with so much class and comfort, plus B&Bs and even a castle. All were located close in, so in our free time we could explore on our own without having to hire a taxi or take other modes of transportation. We were given opportunities to experience local music and talent both in the pubs and at organized programs.
The food of Ireland was superlative, and our restaurants were carefully chosen in regard to local charm and good food.
We have traveled four times with Patty’s Places (Europe, China and Italy) and have only the highest praise for it.
