Places to stay in Paris for 5 adults

I will be travelling to Europe October 05 to Paris and would like to know wa convenient place to stay and visit the popular sites . I am having a problem finding a place for 5 adults for 6 days. Could you recommend a place for that length of time and not having to spend a lot of money per night. This is our first time to Paris and I want a lasting experience. I would appreciate some tips .
