Third Eye Travel in SE Asia

My husband, Norman, and I worked with Arun at Third Eye Travel (Fremont, CA; 800/456-3393) to set up a personalized, 15-day tour of Vietnam and Cambodia, Feb. 11-25, 2010.

We felt that the price was very reasonable, considering everything we got to participate in. The land cost was $2,159 each; internal airfare and visas cost extra. All our hotels were four-star, with breakfasts included.

Every detail of the adventure went off exactly as planned. We were met at each airport by a courteous guide and an experienced driver with a new, clean, air-conditioned vehicle and bottles of cold water.

We especially liked Hoang Manh Duong, from the Hanoi office. He made us feel at ease and was very laid-back and open about answering our many questions about the war and its impact on the culture. His English was very good.

In Saigon we loved Ms. Thuy Tran Thanh. Her English was exceptional, and she went out of her way to do kind things that made us more polite visitors. For example, whenever we entered a temple, she would drop some money in the donation box. In the market, when we asked to take pictures of local fruit or flower vendors, she made purchases from them. She also gave us suggestions of things to do on our own in the evenings.

The itinerary was excellent. We especially enjoyed the trip to the Cao Dai temple in Tay Ninh. Third Eye Travel’s services were exceptional.
