A couple of readers who are going to the Summer Olympics asked for information on travel in Greece. I have been to Greece 20 times in the last 20 years, most recently in October ’03. I have traveled independently there and gotten to know many wonderful Greeks.
Tell ITN about the funniest thing that ever happened to you while traveling in a foreign country. There are no restrictions on length.
ITN asked its readers to write essays on the subject “Travel is. . .” in 250 words or less. Originally, we were going to print only the top five, but your words were so inspiring that we decided to print the top 10 essays. We featured half of them in the February issue.
If you want to experience a country that is still off the beaten path, I suggest Burma. My wife, Jane, and I were there for two weeks, Dec. 21, ’02-Jan.
