On a trip to Peru in October ’07, I went to Cruz del Cóndor, an observation point where the magnitude of the Colca Canyon can be appreciated. It is the best spot for seeing the spectacular condor.
In San Pedro Sula, Honduras, the highlight, for us, was the Museum of Anthropology & History (corner of 3a Avenido and 4a Calle N.O. — open 9-4 Monday-Saturday and 9-3 Sunday; closed Tuesday. Admission, HNL10 [near 50¢]). Many of the exhibits bore captions in English.
In the Pantanal area of Brazil, the abundance and diversity of the vegetation and wildlife are spectacular. Our trip, Aug. 24-Sept. 5, 2007, was timed to take advantage of the dry season (June to November).
