Climbers killed, Pakistan

In northern Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan region, part of Pakistani-administered Kashmir, a Pakistani guide and nine foreign climbers (from Eastern Europe, China, Nepal and America) were killed in a hotel when it was attacked on June 22. The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility and said it would continue to target foreigners. 

The attack happened in the base camp of the 26,660-foot-high mountain Nanga Parbat. All remaining climbers in the area were evacuated.
