Compiled travel journals

I strongly endorse Randy Keck’s recommendation to leave a travel legacy (June ’14, pg. 62).

I have kept journals on our travels for many years. Five years ago I elaborated on these, with the aid of photographs, to produce a printed book of more than 200 pages. On trips made since then, I’ve written new chapters and added them to the book.

I did this for my own satisfaction and also to use as a resource when I had difficulty recalling certain details. In fact, I often sit down and read a chapter that piques my interest.

I gave a copy of the book to friends who accompanied us on some of the trips, but, until reading Randy’s article, I had never considered the possibility that my children or grandchildren might find it useful.
