While traveling in Bhutan a few years ago, I got in a discussion with our tour guide and driver about where they stayed while on the road.  I was told that they usually didn’t stay in the same hotel as their clients.

In fact, in the high season, they never were sure where they would end up. Sometimes they had to travel to a nearby town, sometimes they stayed in a town miles and miles away, and sometimes, with no rooms available, they would have to stay in “Hotel Toyota.”

Well, that got me worried. The next morning, the first thing I asked was, “How far away did you two sleep last night?”

The response? “About two feet. We had twin beds.”
