Traveling in France in April 2016, my companion and I stayed for a second time at My Home in Dijon (6 rue Rameau, 21000, Dijon, France; www.myhomeindijon.com), a lovely apartment in the historic center of the city, steps away from museums and shopping.

This studio apartment has all of the needed amenities for a comfortable stay, and the hostess, Corinne Jacquin, is most accommodating. The rate is based on the number of nights, with a 2- to 5-night stay priced at 145 (near $161) per night.

Once the apartment is booked, Corinne sends a detailed questionnaire to assist with your stay. This includes a selection of breakfast foods to choose, which are there upon your arrival.

She also provides transportation from the train station to the apartment, where she spends as much time as needed to orient you to the property and the city.

The apartment has air-conditioning, a well-equipped kitchen, a washer/dryer and a TV plus access to free Internet and global phone calls. There also are numerous travel books and hundreds of helpful brochures.

An excellent base for touring the wine country of Burgundy, Dijon is a lovely city that is worth a visit, itself. It also recently increased its pedestrian-only areas, now including the main shopping streets. The Old City is delightful, as is the local market.

A useful website is Dijon’s official tourism site: http://destination
dijon.com
.

I highly recommend this accommodation.
