Posterity-aimed trip journals, anyone?

Samantha Sartain’s letter “Still Doing Journals” (May ’16, pg. 49) prompts me to ask if anyone knows of a library or museum that might appreciate a donation of journals, albums, CDs and boxes of ephemera and labeled photos from many travels.

Starting in 1956, and with an eye to history, I’ve described how my wife, Chris, and I (or sometimes my buddy Bob and I) traveled and what the conditions were, with a detailed record of exchange rates and costs. For example, a ticket to the opening ceremony of the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome cost 1,000 lire (a couple bucks).

Most travelers have trip photos and those are not unusual, but the information I’ve recorded might be of some value a long time from now. If you know of an outlet for this material, please send me an email c/o ITN.
