Cities in Germany are hosting events in 2017 to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s Protestant Reformation (visit www.luther2017.de/en), including…

• The “Luther! 95 Treasures — 95 People” exhibit, with artifacts such as Luther’s personal Bible, at Augusteum (Collegienstrasse 54, Lutherstadt Wittenberg), May 20-Sept. 10. 12 (near $13).

• Kirchentage (Church Days), with prayer sessions, concerts and theological discussions, in the six cities Leipzig, Magdeburg, Erfurt, Jena/Weimar, Dessau-Roßlau and Halle an der Saale/Lutherstadt Eisleben, May 25-27, the finale an open-air service in Wittenberg, May 28.

• “Eat & Drink Like Luther,” with revelers dining on medieval-era foods and entertained by troubadours and acrobats while seated at long wooden tables in Schmalkalden’s market square, June 16-17.
