My family and I attended a wedding in Marrakech, Morocco, in October 2016. A few weeks before leaving, I found a private tour guide, Kharroubi Youssef (y.kharroubi@yahoo.com), through TripAdvisor.com. After reading the reviews, I contacted him through TripAdvisor. Each time I contacted him, he emailed me back immediately.

In Marrakech, we visited various sites with Youssef on our 6-hour tour, half of which was by van. In the afternoon, we walked with him through the Medina, a very confusing, wonderful place. We never would have seen the “real” Medina without him.

Youssef charged 150 (near $160) for the five of us, which included the car and driver. We paid extra for admission to the various sites and for lunch.

I absolutely recommend Youssef. He speaks perfect English, is reliable, has a thorough knowledge of the city’s history, has a great passion for his country and was a lot of fun.
