Offering up to 90 guided walks to choose from, the 9-day Crickhowell Walking Festival is held each year at the end of February in the town of Crickhowell, Wales (Crug Hywel in Welsh). The festival (in 2018, Feb. 24-March 4) is the largest in the UK.

The schedule of events is released each December, at which time walks — of varying degrees of difficulty and over both level and hilly terrain — can be booked and tickets purchased to other festival events. Walks take from a half day to a full day and typically cost £6.50-£12 (near $8.50-$16) per person. Visit www.crickhowellfestival.com.
