Butterfly house in Italy

The largest butterfly enclosure in Italy, Casa delle Farfalle (via Canada 5, 33010 Bordano [UD], Italy; phone +39 0432 1636175, bordanofarfalle.it/en), is located in Bordano in the northeast.

Three greenhouses replicate the conditions of jungles in Africa, the Amazon and Asia/Australia, with butterflies from each region flying freely as visitors walk among them.

House of Butterflies is open daily, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., March 1-Sept. 30. €8 (near $9.10), adult, or €6, senior. A tour in English, booked in advance, costs €35.
