At least 12 people were killed in southern France on Oct. 14 when the river Aude flooded after many months’ worth of rain fell in a matter of hours. The flooding was described as the worst the Aude had experienced in more than 100 years, with waters measuring more than 20 feet above flood levels in the commune of Trèbes.
