Northern India flooding

In northeastern India, monsoon rains caused flooding in the states of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in late September, killing more than 100 people. Thousands were evacuated from across the region.
Monsoon season in India typically lasts from June through September. Rainfall usually is on the decline in September, leading local officials to describe these floods as “completely unexpected.”
