A drive-by shooting at a bus in the West Bank Israeli settlement of Ofra injured seven people on Dec. 9, causing one woman to go into labor prematurely. The baby later died in the hospital. Two Palestinians, one of whom was identified as the attacker in the drive-by incident, were later killed in a shootout with Israeli military.

On Dec. 13, a gunman opened fire on a group of Israelis at a different bus stop in Ofra, killing two soldiers and injuring two others before fleeing in a car. A Palestinian was arrested under suspicion of being involved in the attack, but as of press time he had not been identified as the shooter.

During the manhunt, Israeli forces closed all roads leading from the Palestinian city of Ramallah. A Palestinian was killed when he attempted to break through a roadblock.
