New art museum, Paris

In Paris’ 1st arrondissement, a new modern art museum, the Bourse de Commerce: Pinault Collection (2 rue de Viarmes; phone +33 1 55 04 60 60, www.pinaultcollection.com/en), opened May 22, 2021.

The museum, one of four housing the private Pinault art collection, is located in a former commodity exchange building that has been renovated and restored and features a large glass-and-copper dome with a mural depicting farm scenes from around the world along its base. The site was also the location of a 16th-century palace built for French queen Catherine de’ Medici, a column of which is still part of the building’s exterior.

The museum is open 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Wed.-Mon. Closed Tues. Entry, €14 (near $17).
