The Tokyo International Cruise Terminal, on the Daiba waterfront, welcomed its first cruise ship on Sept. 10. The terminal was scheduled to begin operation on July 14, in time for the Tokyo Olympics; however, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed both events, with the Olympics in Japan now scheduled to take place in 2021.

Located about 12 miles south of the older terminal and outside of the Rainbow Bridge, the terminal’s dock, at more than 1,400 feet in length, can accommodate the world’s largest cruise ships. The 4-story terminal building includes an observation deck on the top floor with views of the bridge. It is serviced by the nearby Yurikamome rail station, with trains into central Tokyo.
