Shuttered since June 2009, Santiago, Chile’s, aerial tramway Teleférico de Santiago began operating again in November 2016, with new cars and updated safety equipment.
The cable cars, located in Parque Metropolitano de Santiago, travel two kilometers from Oasis Station, at the park’s entrance, to Tupahue Station on Tupahue Hill and Cumbre Station near the peak of San Cristóbal Hill (at 2,890 feet, the second-highest point in the city). The park also contains the Chilean National Zoo, a botanical garden, a funicular and public pools.
The cable cars run 10 a.m.-7:45 p.m. Tues.-Sun. A round-trip ticket costs CLP2,510 (near $4) on weekdays and CLP2,290, weekends and holidays.
